Vodafone Idea attracts people from Airtel to strengthen its senior leadership team

Vodafone Idea (Vi) has appointed two new people to its leadership team who previously worked for Bharti Airtel. Vikash Sharma and Subruto Mazumdar are the two new people hired by Vi. Vikash Sharma has been appointed as Head of Cluster Marketing for MPCG Constituency (Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh), while Subroto Mazumdar has joined as Head of Cluster Marketing at Uttar Pradesh (UP). Vi is ramping up its marketing efforts, and rightfully so, the company offers some of the best deals to mobile customers in the country.

Vodafone Idea recently announced its quarterly results for the second quarter of FY23 and recorded a net loss of Rs 7592.5 crore. The carrier had problems rolling out 5G and getting outside investors due to poor performance. The Indian government has also delayed the stock transfer because the carrier does not have a solid 5G rollout plan and does not have any investors on board.

Vi CEO Akshaya Moondra does not see any significant negative impact of delaying the rollout of 5G. However, no one can deny the fact that this will lead to more customers leaving Vodafone Idea to try 5G with Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio.
