Verizon adds 5G Home plans to its free internet program


Back in March, Verizon announced its support for the FCC’s Affordable Communication Program (ACP) through Fios Home Internet. Make it free for those who qualify. Now the company’s 5G Home and LTE plans are joining the ACP offering under the new Verizon Forward program.

Verizon announced the expansion of its affordable calling program plans in a press release:

As part of its ongoing mission to help ensure equal and affordable Internet access for all, Verizon announced today that 5G and LTE Home Internet services are available free of charge to eligible households through the new Verizon Forward program. Now, eligible customers can take advantage of fast and reliable Verizon Home Internet service over 5G Home, LTE Home or Fios at no cost. “

Who Is Eligible for Free Verizon Internet Through ACP?

  • Customers enrolled in Emergency Broadband (EBB) benefits
  • Lifeline registered customers
  • Participants in other federal assistance programs (Medicaid, SSI, etc.)
  • HHI (Family Income) <200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline

Customers looking to enroll in the Verizon Forward Program need to apply and be approved on the ACP website and then complete the steps on the Verizon website.

  • Verizon covers up to $500 in early termination fees for your legacy provider
  • There is no expiration for the Affordable Connection Program – but if it does, the final carriers will give customers at least 60 days before the last month of service
  • If you move, you will need to re-enroll in the program to maintain the reduced rates

Discounts for customers who do not qualify for ACP

For customers who do not qualify for ACP, Verizon home internet plans are discounted to $25 for Fios fiber, 5G Home, and LTE Home options with a qualifying unlimited mobile plan.
