Ultra-light body, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, at 26 million


Honor recently introduced a new generation of foldable screen smartphones, the Magic Vs, the successor to the Magic V that was launched almost a year ago. The upgraded version improves the durability of the hinge, and has a lighter body as well as more robust hardware.

The Honor Magic Vs features a glass or faux leather body with a magnesium alloy frame, and measures 6.1mm in the open position and 12.9mm in the folded position. Weighing just 261g, the device is lighter than Xiaomi’s MIX Fold 2, which was the world’s lightest foldable screen smartphone at the time of its launch.

The Magic Vs is equipped with a 7.9-inch main screen with a nearly square ratio, using a flexible OLED panel with a resolution of 1984 x 2272, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a brightness of 800 nits. The secondary screen of the device is 6.45 inches, with FHD + resolution, which is an OLED screen and also has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This screen parameter has not changed much compared to its predecessor.

Honor says it has upgraded the durability of the hinge. Instead of holding up to 92 components, the machine’s hinge now holds just 4 components, while maintaining sturdiness and durability. This hinge has been tested by Honor and can withstand up to 400,000 folds, which means if you fold it 100 times a day, it would take up to 10 years of continuous use to wear down the hinge.

In terms of camera, the Honor Magic Vs is equipped with three main cameras on the back, including a 54MP IMX800 wide-angle camera, a 50MP ultra wide-angle camera and an 8MP 3X telephoto camera. The device has a 16MP selfie camera on the secondary screen.

In terms of performance, Honor Magic Vs equips with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, 8GB/12GB RAM and 256GB/512GB ROM. The battery has a capacity of 5000 mAh, and supports 66W fast charging.

The Honor Magic Vs starting price in China is 7,499 yuan, which is equivalent to 26 million dong. In addition, Honor also launched the Ultimate Edition with 16GB of RAM and Magic Pen support, connected via Bluetooth. This version costs 10,888 yuan, equivalent to 37.8 million. The device will be available at the end of this month.
