On August 14, Google introduced the Pixel 9 series lineup including 4 versions, of which the standard Pixel 9 model is the cheapest smartphone with the Tensor G4 chip that users can own. This device has also “docked” in the Vietnamese market in the past few days, although Google currently has no plans to officially distribute the Pixel line in Vietnam.
The version we have in this article is the white Pixel 9, also known as the Porcelain color as Google calls it. In addition, the device also has black, blue, and pink color options. I personally find this ivory white to be the prettiest of the four color options for the Pixel 9, both of which create a highlight and “show off” the new design on this year’s generation.
This year, Google designed the Pixel 9 with a flat back, with a square frame. On the front, Google equips the Pixel 9 with a 6.3-inch display, which is 0.1 inches larger than its predecessor. It's a flat display, using an OLED panel with FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2,700 nits.
The Pixel 9's display features ultra-thin bezels on all four sides, using a “mole” design with a 10.5MP selfie camera. Additionally, the Pixel 9 also has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display, which is also a noticeable upgrade over its predecessor.
In terms of performance, as mentioned earlier, the Pixel 9 is the cheapest smartphone model equipped with the powerful Tensor G4 chip. This is basically a chip developed by Google in partnership with Samsung. It is known that Google's Tensor chips use the Exynos chip design architecture. The Pixel 9 is available in the US market for $799, which is about VND20 million. It is known that this device is currently on sale in limited quantities in the Vietnamese market for about VND22 million.
