The new BMW Voice Assistant will be built with Amazon’s Alexa

BMW has announced that the next generation of BMW’s voice assistant for its cars will be built with Amazon Alexa.

Alexa will be the technology BMW uses to build its new voice assistant for its future cars and you can find more details about the partnership below.

The next generation BMW voice assistant will be built on Alexa technology. The announcement was made today by Stefan Durash, Senior Vice President of Connected Company and BMW Group Technical Operations, and Dave Limp, Senior Vice President of Devices and Services, Amazon, at Amazon’s annual Devices and Services launch event.

“Alexa technology will allow for a more natural dialogue between driver and vehicle, so drivers can focus on the road. This will take the digital experience to a whole new level,” said Stephane Durash.

Amazon’s Dave Limp added: “This collaboration with BMW is a great example of what the Alexa Custom Assistant is built for – to make it faster and easier for companies to develop smart assistants that are customized for virtually any device, without the cost and complexity of building from the ground up.”
