Synology announced this week that its direct-to-cloud data protection solution C2 Backup now supports macOS and Microsoft OneDrive. The C2 Backup Service and software are part of Synology C2 Cloud The ecosystem, which provides protection and restoration for an unlimited number of desktop and laptop computers with full device backups for Windows and Mac systems.
Support for the Migration Assistant built into macOS, available later in the year, will allow users to seamlessly restore all their information to the same system or another Mac. Mac and Microsoft 365 backup support is now available to all new and existing C2 Backup users.
Synology C2 Backup
“Leveraging the native snapshot capabilities found in macOS, C2 Backup makes more reliable and consistent backups to ensure complete protection of employee devices, including applications and system configurations. Thanks to Time Machine integration, C2 Backup quickly tracks any changes, achieving high backup efficiency without Pull system performance.
C2 Backup also added the ability to back up all your important data stored on Microsoft OneDrive for Business. Businesses using Microsoft 365 for cloud storage can now protect data including employee accounts, Microsoft 365 Exchange mail data, and files in OneDrive with daily scheduled backups and file-level restores. C2 Backup for Microsoft 365 uses an incremental backup technology that loads only changed blocks of data after the initial backup, which saves time and reduces used storage. “
Synology C2 Virtual User Event
Synology also announced the Synology C2 default user event that will premiere on July 14, 2022. The first-ever annual user event for the Synology C2 cloud, Synology Cloud Engage 2022, will present key features and solutions for Synology C2 covering personal data protection, point Endpoint and service protection, as well as data infrastructure.”
