Netflix debuted its first trailer for the upcoming fantasy adventure movie Slumberland — and it looks fantastically beautiful.
Released during the Tudum 2022 global fan event, Netflix gave us our first proper look at Jason Momoa’s family-friendly movie. By all accounts, it looks like it’s going to make a touching, heart-warming Netflix movie.
Check out the extended clip below:
The 80-second clip doesn’t say much about the movie’s plot, but it does show the strong chemistry that exists between Momoa’s Flip and Marlow Barkley’s Nema. The former has a great time laying down the rules for his partner in crime Slumberland, but, unbeknownst to Flip, there is more to Nema than meets the eye. Looks like Flip has stopped working in the banter department.
Far from a normal couple’s relationship, it seems like Slumberland could be a nice movie to watch. Those unfolding chairs, butterflies building a new dream world, and that cute pig toy look like they will attract amazed and amazed viewers in equal measure.
Based on director Winsor McCay’s Little Nemo in the Slumberland comic, Slumberland will see Nema team up with Flip to try to see her late father Nemo (Kyle Chandler) one last time. The film’s supporting actors include Weruche Opia, India de Beaufort, and Chris O’Dowd. Meanwhile, Frances Lawrence – who directed The Hunger Games films – is doing directing, penning the screenplay for the film by David Gione and Michael Handelman (both Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb).
Netflix is set to launch Slumberland in time for Thanksgiving (November 24), and the flick is set to hit the streaming service on November 18.
