Samsung adds the Galaxy Watch 5 World Cup watch face

Along with stability improvements to the Galaxy Watch 5, Samsung’s latest update introduces a fun new watch face designed specifically to celebrate the World Cup.

In addition to updates like Samsung recently, the Galaxy Watch 5 has seen a few updates since its release in August. Every month since then, Watch 5 has been beefed up with the latest security and stability improvements, keeping it running smoothly.

This month, Samsung is pushing an important update that has a fun twist (via SamMobile). In celebration of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Samsung introduces a new watch face for the Galaxy Watch 5. Named “Ball Face” in the official Samsung release, the new look takes on the personality of your favorite team.

The Ball watch face isn’t exactly new and has been around since the Watch 5 was released. However, Samsung has added new customization options to the watch face that give a bit of a soccer touch. Where available, you can head to the watch face section of the Galaxy Wearable app and customize the Ball watch face. From there, you’ll see new wallpapers with flag designs for each country playing this year.

On top of the superficial stuff, the update brings stability and reliability improvements. Samsung notes that these improvements are aimed at notifications and “device behavior.”

For now, it appears that the update is only available in South Korea. Ideally, it wouldn’t take long to bring the new customization options to more regions, since the 2022 World Cup is roughly a week into a month-long event.
