Raspberry Pi Retro Portable Game Console
The brain for this project is RECALBOX OS, an open source game console operating system based on the Retro Arch. A Raspberry Pi Zero W is used here with a custom PCB that has SMD buttons on the front side and a battery on the back. This is currently the fifth iteration of the system. PALPi game console. This version is special, instead of 3D printing the whole body,a PCB was used in the generic build.I used fusion360 to make this design. There are a total of four parts that we need to 3D print. These are the control grips which consist of pairs right and left, and the second part is the screen swatch that we need to print two units.”
“Its previous version was great but it had a problem with the battery, there wasn’t a lot of room inside the body of the 3D print, and by increasing the thickness we can accommodate more cells, but it will also increase the volume. This version is also thick because it consists of two plates stacked together, and we can Adding cells and everything later in one panel, this needs more improvement in this case but for now the SMD buttons work and feel much better than previously used tactile buttons.”
