Hello Games from No Man’s Sky has teamed up with Bandai Namco to bring the hit game to the Nintendo Switch. A Nintendo Direct that aired earlier in the year confirmed that the game was coming to the portable console, but the last we heard, the project had a summer release window, which has now been delayed. But now we have an official date. No Man’s Sky will officially come to Switch on October 7.
Fans around the world can purchase a physical or digital copy of the game in October. In addition to the Nintendo platform launch, PlayStation 5 owners will be able to purchase a redesigned physical version on the same day. The mod will come with all previously released content included, meaning new generation PlayStation owners will have access to 20 different updates in total. Cute – good!

Playing No Man’s Sky on this tiny mobile device feels totally normal and totally improbable at the same time. This was a real start for our little team. No Man’s Sky is built on the basis of procedural generation, which means the console generates everything you see. This makes it more difficult to turn our game into something like the Switch, but I think this team never seems happier than when they’re trying to do things that are nearly impossible.
The physical version of the PlayStation 5 will include a remastered disc containing all 20 updates, which is a great place for people to join in on the game. This is the first time since Beyond launched in 2019 that you can purchase a copy of No Man’s Sky in stores. The box for this release flaunts the phrase “contains all 7 major updates”. The fact that we’re about to hit our 20th free update is a reminder of how busy we have been in the past three years!
