Set in an alternate 16th century England, the Prime Video original series follows Lady Jane Grey (Bader) as she takes the throne amidst tensions between humans and the shape-shifting animal Ethian. However, the series’ ending is the end of everything. My Lady Jane She and her arranged husband, Lord Guildford Dudley, are almost sentenced to death because of the latter's status as a womanizer.

Emily Bader:
I remember that day very clearly, and it wasn't difficult to act that day. We shot on this huge set, with hundreds and hundreds of assistant artists there, and fire. I felt like the pressure of that helped me a lot, at that moment, because it was so overwhelming. When you look at Delaroche's painting of her awaiting execution, which is a very famous painting, it definitely affected me, to portray that.

Edward Blumel:
It was shocking to see you being led to the scaffold. I had become so attached to you by that time—Edward to Emily, and also Guildford to Jane. It's interesting when those feelings come to a head a little bit. It was really dark to watch and suddenly it made you feel the gravity of the moment.
