Reliance Jio, the telecom giant owned by Reliance Industries, is offering its customers a prepaid plan of Rs 240 per month, through which they get 2GB of daily data. This plan from Jio is available to customers via its website as well as the mobile app (MyJio). This is not a new plan and has been around for nearly a year now since the tariff increase. The plan does not come on a monthly basis. Comes straight for 84 days. Most of you have probably already guessed the plan I am talking about. If you haven’t, keep reading.
Reliance Jio plan that offers 2GB of daily data but only costs Rs 240 per month
The Reliance Jio prepaid plan we are talking about here is the Rs 719 plan. This plan was introduced at the time of the tariff hike in 2021. With this plan, users get a total of 168GB of data for 84 days, along with unlimited voice calls and 100 text messages/day. Jio users on this plan also get free access to the following Jio apps – JioSecurity, JioCloud, JioCinema and JioTV. After 2 GB of data is finished for the day, the users’ internet speed drops to 64 Kbps.
When calculating the monthly cost of this plan, the expenditure figure will come to around Rs 240 per month. It is worth noting that for Rs 239, Jio offers 1.5GB of daily data to users for a period of 28 days. So spending money on the Rs 719 plan is more economical in the long run if you want 1.5GB or more of data each day. You also get a 1.5GB daily data plan for 84 days. This plan will cost you Rs 666 and excluding data, it will offer the same benefits shown for Rs 719 plan. The difference between the Rs 666 plan and the Rs 719 plan is very slight, especially when the plan is for medium term validity.
