Galaxy A54 – Worth buying at VND 10 million
The Galaxy A series has always been a logical choice for those who love Samsung phones but don’t want to spend a lot of money on Galaxy S series products.
In Vietnam, Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A54, a phone model that is highly regarded for its design, performance, and price. Some comments from foreign review sites also say that the new Galaxy A54 will become one of the most valuable smartphones to buy in 2023.
After two years of using the old design language on the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A53 models, Samsung has given the Galaxy A54 a completely new look, with a premium look that’s no less than the Galaxy S23.
The back of the device contains 3 cameras, much like the Galaxy S23. The body is made of metal and plastic, and the screen uses Gorilla Glass 5. Overall, the device is slim and compact, with a thickness of 8.2 mm. The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display feels solid and expensive in the hand.
Galaxy A54 has four color options, including white, black, purple and blue. Of these, purple and blue are the most appreciated.
The screen has a 120Hz refresh rate, above which is a 32MP selfie camera, along with the maximum brightness boosted to 1,000 nits. This is a necessary improvement over the Galaxy A53. The machine also has very clear color and contrast levels.
The camera on the Galaxy A54 has also been upgraded over the previous generation, with a 50MP main camera and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 12MP wide-angle camera, along with a 5MP macro camera.
Galaxy A54 integrates Samsung’s latest Exynos 1380 chip. Exynos hasn’t been appreciated in the past, but users will need to wait and see if this new chip brings anything different.
The Galaxy A54 has a 5,000mAh battery, which Samsung promises for up to two days of use. The device has 8GB of RAM, and two storage options of 128GB or 256GB, or used with a MicroSD memory card with a maximum capacity of 1TB.
Of course, the new Samsung phone also integrates the latest technology such as 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, and the option to use an eSIM instead of the standard SIM. Highly sensitive in-display fingerprint sensor, IP67 water resistance, and 25W fast charging.
Galaxy A54 and Galaxy S23
The Galaxy A54 is currently sold in the Vietnamese market for 10.49 million VND, for the 8 GB random memory version, 128 GB internal memory, and 11.49 million VND for the 8 GB RAM version, and 256 GB internal memory.
While it’s not a huge upgrade over the Galaxy A53, at least in terms of configuration, the small changes like the brighter screen, better camera, premium design, and 120Hz display are the highlights.
The success of the device will be determined after Exynos 1380 chip performance and actual battery life tests.
With these impressive highlights, the Galaxy A54 has all the potential to be an affordable and cost-effective product for those who are baffled by the high price of the Galaxy S23.
For comparison, the A54 has a larger screen at 6.4 inches compared to the 6.1 inches of the S23. However, the S23 has a brighter screen, smaller bezels, and stronger performance. The S23 has a better camera, while the A54 has a bigger battery. The price of the S23 is also twice that of the A54.
Samsung has improved the quality of the mid-range phone with a glass back, which is a change from the plastic materials it has used in the past. With a price range of only VND 10 million, the Galaxy A54 has a 120Hz screen. While the iPhone 14 or iPhone 14 Plus models cost twice as much, they still only use 60Hz screens.
The Galaxy A54 5G is a significant jump up for Samsung’s mid-range segment, and deserves to be the most affordable phone in its price range.
If you just want a phone that performs well or appreciates a longer battery life, the Galaxy A54 5G is the right choice and will save you a decent amount of money.
However, the Galaxy S23 with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and great camera quality will be a device that will serve you well for many years to come.
