iPhone 14 troubleshooting makes 911 calls over rollercoaster rides

Apple introduced a new feature with the iPhone 14 series phones recently, called Crash Detection. It uses a range of sensor data from your iPhone to detect if you’ve been in a car accident, then notify emergency services to fetch help. However, it appears that the feature accidentally triggers a batch of 911 calls from a rollercoaster ride.

In a new report from the Wall Street Journal, Joanna Stern says the latest iPhone 14 and Apple Watch with fault detection are making 911 calls, with many calls recorded since the phones began arriving to customers last month. Stern recently tested fault finding itself.
