iOS 16 beta 4 Apple Pay Support for Browsers

Apple recently released iOS 16 beta 4 for the iPhone, we previously heard about some new features and now we have some details about the changes in Apple Pay.

Previously, Apple Pay on iOS in a web browser only worked with Safari, this has now changed with the release of the new iOS 16 beta 4.

This was first discovered by developer Steve Moser who revealed that Apple Pay now works in browsers other than Safari. This includes Edge, Chrome, and more browsers.

A number of iOS 16 beta testers have also confirmed that Apple Pay now works in third-party browsers, including browsers like Firefox and others.

The Verge suggests that Apple may be doing so because the European Union plans to crack down on technology companies that use anti-competitive practices. The European Union may view Apple Pay negatively as being restricted to the Safari browser only.

We expect to release the new iOS 16 software update in September along with the new iPhone 14 range of smartphones. Once we get some details about the release date of the new iPhone 14 and iOS 16, we will let you know.
