How to use Google’s reverse image search


In addition to the normal search and image search, Google also offers a reverse image search feature that you can use to search for your image.

For example, if you have a picture of a product that you want to buy, but you don’t know the exact name of the product, you can use a reverse image search to find that product or similar products. This could be a photo that a friend or colleague sent you and you want to know more details about it.

How do I use Google’s reverse image search feature?

The first thing you will need is to store the image on your device, this can be on your smartphone, tablet or computer.

Head over to Google Images and then click on the image icon in the search box, after which you will be given the option to paste the image URL or upload an image. select file upload photo option and then select Choose a file on your mobile device or browse on your computer.

You will then be able to upload a file to your browser and Google will show you the exact same images as the ones you upload if they are available. If exact images are not available, Google will show you similar images.

What can I use reverse image search for?

Google’s reverse image search feature is a great tool, and it can be used to verify that someone is the same. Many people have seen the popular MTV show Catfish, where people pretend to be someone else and are tracked down by the Catfish team, one of the tools they use is to search for images on Google to see if the person is who they say they are.

This can be a great way to spot a fake online profile that someone might be using, if the original image is online, it will appear in Google image search when uploaded.

What other things can be used to search for images?

Google Image Search is widely used by journalists and others to detect fake news and fake photos. Many fake news stories use images that may be related to something else, if you put that image into Google Image Search, you will be able to tell when that image was originally used.
