If you use Snapchat regularly and have a lot of friends, display names can quickly become a mess. While some people use their regular names as good social citizens, others feel the need to change them to non-descriptive nicknames that can create confusion about who is actually sending you. If you prefer to rank in your Snapchat world, you can easily override your chosen display name in favor of one of your own creations. Here’s how!
How to change a friend’s display name on Snapchat
- release snap chat from your home screen.
- Click on Conversations tab.
- Click on Friend’s name You want to change.
- Click on Friend’s name at the top of the conversation.
- Click on Friend’s name on the profile screen.
- Enter file display name.
Changing your username is a little more difficult
While you can change your display name and your friend’s display name any time you want, changing your username is a bit more complicated.
Snapchat introduced this option this year (Opens in a new tab), but the capacity has some heavy limitations. You will only be able to change your username once a year, and you will not be able to go back to a previous username – either by you or someone else.
To do this, Snapchat put the steps as follows:
Click on the gear icon, then on “Username,” and select “Change Username.” Changing your username will not affect your contacts, Snap Code, Snap Points, or Memories.
So, if you want to change your username, make sure you are okay with leaving your old username behind forever, because you will never be able to get it back.
