Google’s potato chips are back on the Pixel 7 in Japan

As it did last year, Google Japan bloated the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro with chips that highlight this generation’s color options.

Those in Japan can enter the lottery to win one of 2,000 boxes – not bags – of potato chips. The packaging also features the new Pixel 7 camera strap design with a bead and circle, or just the previous one. You have until Friday, September 23 to register.

There are four color matching flavors available, starting with “Snow Cheese” and “Obsidian Pepper,” which are offered across both phone sizes. Meanwhile, we have the Pixel 7 Pro’s ‘Hazel Onion’ in green with a gold camera strap and ‘Salty Lemon'[grass]For Pixel 7. (We have many questions about the taste of the last two.)

By comparison, the Pixel 6 had different bag designs but only one flavor: “Googley Salty Flavor.” The landing page highlights the Tensor G2, and Google promotes image and video quality.

Google says these chips are meant to be shared with friends and family ahead of the Pixel 7’s launch this fall, but it should definitely be treated as a collector’s item that we hope will be available worldwide.

It comes as Japan (and other Asia Pacific countries) just concluded a weekend sale on the Google Store that comes with an exclusive phone case.
