Google Maps is getting some new features

Google has announced that it is updating Google Maps with some new features. Google will begin rolling out the new Search with Live View feature on Maps.

Google is also making it easier for people to find EV charging stations to charge their electric vehicles, plus it provides more details on wheelchair-accessible and stair-free places as well.

Let’s say you’re visiting New York and plan to ditch the holiday shopping and catch up with friends. Lift your phone and tap the camera icon in the search bar to see nearby stores and other places like coffee shops, banks, and ATMs. Using augmented reality-assisted directions and arrows, you can see which way they’re going and how far away they are—and even mark places that aren’t in your direct vision (like a clothing store around the block) to get a real sense of the neighborhood at a glance. To find other places to hang out, click on the different places categories to explore nearby restaurants, bars, pastry shops, parks, and public transit stops. The best part? In addition to showing you where Places are, you can see basic information about each overlaid spot—like whether it’s open, how busy it is, what its price range is, and whether the Google Maps community rates it highly.
