Galaxy A52 gets Android 13 update in beta

Android 13 hit Pixel phones in August and has since been rolling out to some devices from OnePlus and Oppo, as well as Samsung devices through a beta program. Now, Samsung is bringing Android 13, in beta, to the Galaxy A52 in its first expansion after the flagship.

Samsung traditionally opens the beta of Android 13 to its current Galaxy S flagships before anything else, which it did this year. The Galaxy S22 series came first, followed by the Galaxy S21 series. The next batch expected to be added to the beta program was the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4, in addition to their predecessors.

But to everyone’s surprise, Samsung’s next terminal with Android 13 is actually the Galaxy A52!

As I spotted it SamMobileAndroid 13 is now available for the Galaxy A52 as part of the One UI 5.0 beta program. At the moment, the program appears to be only open to users in India, but it should expand in the coming weeks.

It’s definitely a surprise that Samsung will release this update on the Galaxy A52 2021 first, especially since the Galaxy A53 has been available for several months now. However, it’s great to see Samsung expand the beta to more affordable devices so quickly. Currently, the Galaxy S22, S21, Fold 4 / Fold 3, Flip 4 / Flip 3 and Galaxy A53 are expected to see stable updates to Android 13 by the end of the year. If this beta release is any indication, the Galaxy A52 may follow closely.
