Football Manager 2023 is signing this awesome PS5 for the new season

With there’s no football to enjoy and many other events have been postponed or canceled, the old Football Manager game is likely to see plenty of action this weekend.

Today also brings news to cheer up management sim fans. Football Manager 2023 (or FM23 for fans of everything for brevity) will be released on November 8 this year.

For the first time, the game will be available on a PlayStation home console, under the PS5 version. While the series has previously appeared on Vita and PSP (h/t VGC), a proper PlayStation version along with the Xbox version is most welcome.

“You’ll seamlessly navigate your way to football greatness with a user interface optimized for winning with the DualSense console and designed for console play on the bigger stage,” the maker of FM Sports Interactive says in the ad.

PS5 players will have to pay for the privilege, but those who use Xbox will get it as part of a Game Pass subscription on November 8 as well.

There is also word about its presence on another subscription service. Apple Arcade subscribers will get FM23 Touch for iPad, iPhone, Mac, and Apple TV. Information about the game’s touch-screen version will be revealed next month. The Touch version will also be available on the Nintendo Switch.

“For the first time, you’ll be able to keep your career on the go across all your Apple devices, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac, with your Arcade subscription,” the company says in the ad.

The game will also be an FM23 Mobile game, to further confuse matters. This release was skipped in 2022, but returned in 2023. Of course, the full expression of the game comes in the full Football Manager 2023, which will be available on PC and consoles.
