Facebook Live Shopping to close

Meta has announced that it plans to close Facebook Live Shopping from October 1, 2022.

The company said it is turning off this feature due to changing consumer behavior, you can find more details below.

From October 1, 2022, you will no longer be able to host any new or scheduled live shopping events on Facebook. You’ll still be able to use Facebook Live to broadcast live events, but you won’t be able to create product playlists or tag products in Facebook Live videos.

As consumers’ viewing behaviors shift to short video, we’re shifting our focus to Reels on Facebook and Instagram, the short video Meta product.

If you want to reach and engage people through video, try Reels and Reels ads on Facebook and Instagram. You can also tag products in Reels on Instagram to enable discovery and deeper thinking.

If you have a store with a checkout and want to host Instagram Live Shopping events, you can set up Live Shopping on Instagram.
