Before launching Samsung’s new Galaxy Z series, Lenovo introduced its latest foldable screen smartphone called Razr 40 Ultra, which is a product of the Motorola brand (currently owned by Lenovo). The Razr 40 Ultra’s best standout feature comes from its superior design, although it’s a “clamshell” foldable product line, the Razr 40 Ultra has a more “futuristic” design that Samsung itself needs to change if it doesn’t want to be left behind.
Before Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, two other smartphone models from OPPO and vivo appeared as Find N2 Flip and X Flip, also equipped with an advanced and compact design and a large secondary screen. Compared to the Galaxy Z Flip4, we can see that Samsung’s foldable screen smartphone looks like…a “joke”.

Manufacturers are racing over the additional screen size in foldable phones and it is increasing day by day. From OPPO Find N2 Flip with a 3.26-inch screen, to Motorola Razr 40 Ultra with a 3.6-inch screen several times larger than Samsung’s only 1.9-inch screen

The Razr 40 Ultra’s secondary screen contains the device’s main camera array, and is not “cut out”. This kind of design is conducive to upgrading the user experience, and scrolling and touching from there are also more comfortable

In terms of overall design, there isn’t much difference between the Razr 40 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Flip4 if you’re a casual user.

The device has a 6.9-inch main screen, using 10-bit LTPO AMOLED panels, with FHD + resolution, up to 165Hz refresh rate, and 1400 nits of brightness.

The screen folds on the Razr 40 Ultra aren’t as obvious as on the Galaxy Z Flip4, and when you slide your finger over this area it doesn’t affect the experience much. In fact, manufacturers of foldable smartphones from China are doing a great job of improving the foldable screen

Go back to the Razr 40 Ultra’s secondary screen. This screen has not only a larger size, but also “terrible” hardware specifications that no other smartphone has: 1056 x 1066 resolution with a very large pixel density of 413ppi, 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10 + support and 1100 nits brightness. Of course, this screen is also a 10-bit color AMOLED screen, and Motorola designed separate wallpapers to hide the camera area.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra’s secondary screen has its own launcher (launcher) with customizable apps and widgets

Users can use any app on this secondary screen without the need for a third party solution

Even playing games is relatively easy on the secondary screen

It is impossible not to mention the flexible shooting features of these folding machines. The secondary screen can help the photographer preview the frame, or take advantage of the main camera as a high-quality selfie camera

The main camera array on the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra includes two lenses: a 12-megapixel wide-angle and a 13-megapixel wide-angle. This is not a great parameter, but it is enough for use and the photos taken with the Razr 40 Ultra are still of good quality

Motorola allows users to deeply customize the secondary screen area

It can be seen that Samsung really needs to change if it does not want to be an “underdog” before folding smartphones from Chinese brands. It is known that the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip5 will be a “huge” that Samsung has invested heavily in, and we can be sure of the quality of the product that Samsung is about to offer. In any case, almost all Chinese foldable smartphone models are not sold in the Vietnamese market

Samsung will hold the Galaxy Unpacked event to introduce the new Galaxy Z products on July 26. Let’s wait and see what surprises Samsung will present to the technology user community in Vietnam!
