2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class First Look: Elevating the Status Quo

If the 2021 S-Class is the big daddy in Mercedes-Benz’s portfolio, it seems the new Maybach S-Class is the ‘Godfather’ of the three-pointed star. And, similar to how the S-Class showcases the very latest technology, luxury, and safety features in a modern car, the 2021 Maybach S-Class holds a lavish magnifying glass to all those aspects of Mercedes' flagship.

2021 Hyundai Elantra N First Drive Review: Worthy of Praise

2021 Hyundai Elantra N First Drive Review: Worthy of Praise

I spent less than an hour driving the 2021 Hyundai Elantra N. And even though my test driver is essentially a pre-production prototype, it’s evident Hyundai has created a highly desirable rendition of its all-new, seventh-gen Elantra compact sedan. “The N concept was born out of the passion of Hyundai’s talented engineers at our research and development headquarters in Nanyang, South Korea,” said Olabisi Boyle, vice president of Product Planning Mobility strategy, Hyundai North America. “Our goal is to get the hearts of our customers racing and keep them there. We want them to feel thrilling performance measured in beats per minute, in cars that are truly fun to drive.”

Hyundai commits to electrification and fuel cells with ten new models by 2022

South Korean automaker Hyundai is diving head-on towards electrification and hydrogen fuel cell technology. In a recent online press briefing, Hyundai was kind enough to give us a healthy glimpse into the carmaker’s expanded EV and eco-focused vehicle lineup. Consisting of up to ten new models (including the all-new Ioniq 5 CUV and Ioniq 6 luxury sedan), the lineup also includes the Nexo FCEV, a hydrogen fuel cell-powered crossover which is now sold at Hyundai dealerships.

2022 Hyundai Tucson: Moving the Game Forward

2022 Hyundai Tucson: Moving the Game Forward

Sport-utility vehicles are at the heart of American buyers, and the 2022 Hyundai Tucson is aiming to move the SUV game forward with its bold, new design. The new Tucson gave me the same giddy sensation upon first laying my eyes on the sixth-gen Sonata back in 2009. And similar to how the all-new eight-gen Sonata is changing sedans with its innovative lighting signature, Hyundai has employed the same strategy in the all-new, fourth-gen 2022 Tucson.

WANDRD Neck, Wrist, and Sling Straps keep your camera close for safety

WANDRD Neck, Wrist, and Sling Straps keep your camera close for safety

Despite initial fears and predictions that smartphones will eventually kill off at least the lower end of the camera market, dedicated shooters continue to thrive. Some might say that they have even grown thanks to smartphone photographers who want to graduate from amateur to pro. Digital cameras have definitely changed with the times but a few things have also remained constant like their heft and their price. There are definitely many ways to keep cameras safe but one of the simplest and also most flexible ways is a strap, such as one of the three new WANDRD straps designed to cover different camera sizes and weights.

2022 Audi RS e-tron GT: Audi’s most powerful RS car is breaking expectations

German carmaker Audi recently held a virtual tech talk event to unveil the 2022 RS e-tron GT. It’s the brand’s newest Gran Turismo and is essentially a higher performance version of a standard e-tron GT electric car. Moreover, the 2022 Audi RS e-tron GT is the future of the RS brand. “The RS e-tron GT will be the first fully-electric RS model and is the most powerful car we ever built,” said Linda Kurz, Head of Product Marketing, Audi Sport GmbH. “It’s a high-performance GT and reflects all the passion we have.”

2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost First Drive Review – Luxury with a twist

2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost First Drive Review – Luxury with a twist

The second-generation 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost marks the beginning of a new era at Goodwood. Here is a modern Rolls, one that sets aside pompousness for what the marque refers to as ‘Post Opulence’ design. The first-generation Ghost, released in 2009, became the most successful product in Rolls-Royce’s 116-year history. And, unlike with the stately Phantom, it turns out Ghost buyers prefer driving the car themselves rather than being driven.

Insta360 ONE X2: cramming a camera crew in your pocket

Insta360 ONE X2: cramming a camera crew in your pocket

You'd think that, with everything that's going on with this pandemic, there'd be fewer uses for action cameras and 360-degree shooters. On the contrary, there has instead been an uptick in interest in these devices as people discover and create new ways to create and record memories. From the sometimes drab video conferencing to live streaming at home to capturing footage of a somewhat different world, there is probably no better time than before to always have a camera at hand, ready to shoot at a moment's notice, without having to worry about perfect angles and staging. And for that, Insta360's new ONE X2 camera gives you everything you need, including the crew.

The gold iPhone 12 Pro is just so darn pretty – Hands-on

The gold iPhone 12 Pro is just so darn pretty – Hands-on

"Without pain," so the old saying goes, "how can we know true joy?" Happily the stress was all left to the iPhone 12 Pro design 000, leaving me to simply take pleasure in how near-perfect this new smartphone's design feels. Resembling a scaled-down version of the iPad Pro, this year's lineup consists of the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, all having the same flat edges. I've never been a big fan of the rounded edges from Apple's last few generations of iPhone, though not because it looks terrible by any means. For me, it's more about how the iPhone feels in my hand.

Google Assistant can now create custom shortcuts to Android app actions

Google Assistant can now create custom shortcuts to Android app actions

Voice-controlled virtual assistants like Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Siri have changed the way many of us interact with our phones, the Web, or even our homes. Whether it's searching for some trivial information, reading a bedtime story, or dimming the lights for movie time, these AI-powered helpers try to make life less stressful by removing the need to physically do things we could just command them to do. Ironically, Google Assistant doesn't offer that convenience on its own turf on Android when it comes to third-party apps. That all changes today as it finally learns how to bring all these apps in line and be at your beck and call.

The 2021 Audi e-tron GT will sound unlike any electric car

The 2021 Audi e-tron GT will sound unlike any electric car

Less than two years ago, I was fortunate to get behind the wheel of a pre-production Audi e-tron GT concept on the streets of California. The car I drove is a one-off and is the only model in existence back then. Coupled with drizzling rains (welcome to sunny California!) and real-time traffic, ‘careful’ would be an understatement. Despite all these, everything went well, and the first thing that struck me about Audi’s electric GT car – besides the sports car-like low seating position – is the inherent silence of it all, which is typical of an electric car.

2021 Volkswagen ID.4: Upping the stakes in the electric vehicle segment

Volkswagen left the North American market high and dry with its first all-electric ID.3 hatchback. But, as promised, the 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 has finally made an appearance minus the groovy camouflage. And yes, the VW ID.4 is coming to America, and it has some good old American bravado to go along with it.
