This week the official Arduino development team released the new Arduino Cloud Tags, filters, flashes, and galleries updates that enhance your cloud IDE workflow. Tags have introduced a new way to filter your stuff based on your custom metadata, and the templates have been further improved with new, broader templates (which support a full range of panels; not just the Oplà set), we’re right back to the classics.
For an overview of the new updates rolling out to the Arduino Cloud, check out the embedded videos below.
“Arduino Cloud updates are like buses! They all come at once. But that makes it even more exciting when we tell you what new things are happening in Arduino’s awesome SaaS system. The thing about Arduino Cloud is a cross-functional entity.
It’s so easy to build that it becomes easy to overlook just about everything something can do for your project. So if you’re like me, you’re constantly creating new things for projects, jobs, prototypes, experiments and sometimes just for fun. This may mean that your cloud account can get a little fast with these virtual machines. And this is where signs come to the rescue.”

Tags are the basis for bringing metadata to your stuff. You can add as many tags to something as you want, and each gets a custom value. In the example below, we’ve added a ‘location’ tag, to show how you can filter out as many solutions that have been posted. in different places.
The location tag is assigned to objects, and values are given based on where they are located; New York and Rome, for example. You can now edit the columns on your Things page to show your own custom tags, and then filter the list using the search bar, based on any of those metadata criteria. “
“There is more exciting Arduino Cloud news around the corner, but in the meantime, give these cool new features a test and let us know what you think. If you haven’t gotten started with the Arduino IoT Cloud option yet, you can dive in for free by hitting the button below.”
