Small and medium businesses are in luck because Apple is breaking with tradition and offering business discounts of up to 10% on the latest MacBook Pro 14in and 16in models, according to a report from Apple Inc. bloomberg (Opens in a new tab).
The deals come as the holiday season kicks off and just before the Black Friday Macbook deals are revealed, in an effort to turn in more stock during the final stretch of 2022.
Apple hailed the rare deal as a “very special campaign for Macs”.

Small and medium businesses are entitled to an 8% discount on bulk orders between 5 and 24 devices; Businesses that order 25 or more Macbooks can expect a 10% discount. The deal includes any combination of 14-inch and 16-inch models, and is expected to close on December 24, 2022.
The unusual offering comes as Apple expects Mac sales to decline in the fourth quarter of the year.
On an earnings call in October, Apple CFO Luca Maestri revealed that Mac sales revenue is set to “drop significantly” from last year.
The lack of an updated Macbook Pro in 2022 is believed to be driving, at least in part, the impetus for companies to offer discounted models — especially during the all-important holiday quarter.
The only updates Apple has made to its laptops this year have been the new MacBook Air and 13-inch MacBook Pro in June, with the former significantly increasing sales of its devices last quarter. However, it seems that MacBook Pro sales will still lag behind last year.
Small and medium businesses are entitled to the discount, which appears to be more generous than the typical discount rate offered to business customers.
According to a Bloomberg report, “sales staff were recently informed of the deal and began reaching out to companies with previous relationships with Apple to gauge interest. Small business representatives said they rarely get calls from Apple to push promotions. The company, which hasn’t promoted an offer like this in half, said hold, and declined to comment.”
