Apple delays some iPhone 14 Pro pre-orders

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro pre-orders are starting to reach buyers all over the world. However, for some buyers, Friday won’t be “iPhone 14 Day” after all. Some iPhone 14 Pro pre-orders delayed

In most years, Apple keeps shipping estimates for new iPhones. We’ve never heard of situations where the company promised delivery on shopper launch day, but then delays that delivery after the fact. What’s most common is that Apple quotes buyers for late delivery, and then beats those estimates.

But this year, the iPhone 14 launch has been a bit tricky. On pre-order day last week, both the Apple Store Online and Apple Store app faced major outages as customers scrambled to order new devices. This led to several issues, including that some customers ended up with multiple pre-orders for the iPhone 14 due to system errors, while others ended up with nothing.

Now, it appears that Apple has promised to over-promise for some iPhone 14 buyers. Reports flattening on me Social media that Camel delay Some iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max orders tentatively priced for September 16 delivery. 9to5Mac He also heard first-hand from readers whose orders are facing similar delays.

In most cases, Apple pushes these estimated delivery dates back roughly a week to September 23rd, but we’ve also heard from readers that their orders have been pushed back until September 30th. Some buyers were notified earlier this week of the delays, while others were notified to date.

These delays only seem to affect the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The base model iPhone 14 isn’t nearly as limited in width as the “Pro” models. Also, remember that the iPhone 14 Plus won’t be released until October 7.

While this news is disappointing for affected iPhone 14 buyers, it’s not surprising given the glitches in the pre-order system. Ideally, Apple would still be able to beat their shipping estimates, even if it was only for a few days. iPhone 14 Pro lags don’t seem incredibly common (yet). But it is still more common this year than in previous years.

Currently, most iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max variants quote mid-to-late October delivery estimates via Apple’s online store.
